What is Ultimate Beatdown?

Ultimate Beatdown (UB) is Malaysia's longest-running grassroots fight league, founded in 2010 in Johor Bahru by Melvin "Overkill" Yeoh. Across 60+ events and 500+ bouts, UB has given amateur and professional fighters a real platform to compete in Boxing, Kickboxing, Siam Rules Combat, MMA and NoGi Submission Grappling.

When and where is the next event?

Two events are coming up: UB 61 on 15 August 2026 at Dewan Nibong, Taman Daya, Johor Bahru, and UB 62 on 29 August 2026, 11:00 AM at Aeon Mall Kulai, Johor. Registration for the current open event is on the registration page.

Who can compete?

Accepted Answer

UB has divisions for men, women, teens and kids (Youth Fights for 12 years old and below), at both amateur and professional levels. Beginners are welcome — just declare your fight record honestly so matchmaking can pair you fairly and safely.

What disciplines can I fight in?

You can compete in Boxing, Kickboxing, Siam Rules Combat, MMA, or NoGi Submission Grappling. Round formats vary by discipline and level — for example MMA amateur bouts are three 3-minute rounds, while striking bouts are three 2-minute rounds. See the Rules page for full details per discipline.

How do I register to fight?

Register online on the registration page: choose your discipline and weight class, pay the registration fee, then upload your payment receipt and a photo of yourself. The registration form is available in English, Bahasa Melayu and 中文.

How do weight classes and matchmaking work?

Accepted Answer

Weight classes follow the ONE Championship categories (Atomweight through Heavyweight). Fighters are matched closely — generally within about 4kg — and there is a 500g / 1.10lb allowance at weigh-in. Coming in over your declared weight class draws point deductions per bout (up to a maximum of 3 points), so make weight honestly.

Is the registration fee refundable?

The registration fee is generally non-refundable. If the tentative fight card has been released and no opponent can be found for you, a partial refund of RM50 applies. Withdrawals due to illness require medical proof. If you cannot attend, give the matchmaker prior notice.

What's included for fighters?

Every fighter gets professional photography, fight video plus live-streaming, a certificate and medals, and ice provided ringside for the round breaks. (In our rules "ICE" means actual ice for fighters — it is not insurance.)

What equipment do I need?

Accepted Answer

A mouthguard and a groin guard are compulsory — bring your own. UB provides protective gear such as gloves and shin guards, and you must not use your own or modify what is provided. Wear compression shorts or fight shorts with no pockets (no loose shirts or singlets); rash guards are recommended. Trim your fingernails and toenails before the fight.

How is a fight won?

A fight can be won by knockout (KO), technical knockout (TKO), submission (in MMA and NoGi Submission Grappling), or by the judges' decision. Striking and MMA bouts are scored using the 10-point must system across the rounds.

What are the rules for my corner during break time?

Bring your own towel. UB provides ice for fighters during the round breaks. Do NOT pour or dump water or ice onto the canvas/ring floor during breaks — intentionally wetting the canvas is a foul and results in a point deduction.

How much are tickets?

Standard tickets are RM35 and VIP tickets are RM120. There is also a 3-Standard Pack — three standard tickets for RM100, which saves you RM5.

Yes — the 3-Standard Pack gives you three standard tickets for RM100 (instead of RM105), ideal for coming with friends or family.

How do I buy tickets?

Buy your tickets online on the tickets page: pick your tier (Standard or VIP) and quantity, pay, and your digital e-ticket is issued instantly.

How do I get my ticket after paying, and how does entry work?

After payment you receive a digital e-ticket with a unique code/QR. Show it at the door — it's scanned at check-in to admit you. Keep it on your phone; no printing needed.

Absolutely. UB is a family-friendly event with youth and kids divisions in the line-up, so spectators of all ages are welcome to come and cheer.

Yes — tickets are available at the door as well as online. Buying online in advance is faster and gets you your e-ticket instantly.
